Dear Readers

The latest on my Farmers Insurance problem.

I talk to a very nice lawyer who gave me free advise on what to do on getting fair treatment for Farmers.. basically there is nothing I can do other than file complaint with consumer groups and telling every I can about it!! If I take their client to small claims court to try and get the out-standing medical bills payed that her insurance ( Farmers) refused to pay. That Farmers would sue me for breech of contract.. hum.. Farmers can not pay for all of my medical bill from an accident their client, caused but they can afford to pay thousand of dollars to sue me.

I now plan to see about getting a law passed that requires all insurance companies to send every victim a complete and simple English form ( no double talking, meaning lawyer language) that explains the time you have to settle your claims, when and how much of your medical bills will be payed and what compensations you are entitled to for time, wages , pain and suffering. I would also like a law in place that gives you the right to void a settlement agreement if you were not given all this information or were lied to or deceived into signing.

I plan on tell as many people as I can about what happened to me and do my best to make sure it does not happen to anyone else.

If your not sure what insurance company to by from .. type worst insurance companies into your search bar and stay away from all those listed.

This was one very hard, humiliting and expensive lesson for me and If I can prevent it from happening to anyone else, it would make me and Brew very happy.

Don’t buy Farmers Insurance and if you have it switch companies !!

Dear Readers

Today we are going to tell you about a personal experience in the hopes that you will learn from our mistakes and not get screwed over like we did.

This story started two years ago. I was hit by a driver who was talking on her cell phone and not paying attention and she made an unsafe lane change into my lane and hit my truck, she hit my truck so that it spun me across two lanes of traffic and I was facing the other direction in media lane. She was sited and received a ticket.

I hurt my neck in the accident and end up having to get 5 months of treatment and after two years I still have pain in my neck if I miss a week of doing my PT exersices. Farmers insurance was the other drivers insurance company and they will not pay for all of the treatments that I received and I will now have to pay for $1000.00 of treatment for an accident and injury that was their drives fault. I will now have to take the driver to small claims court to try to collect the outstanding medical bills that her Farmer Insurance will not pay.

I have found out that Farmers insurance has done this to a lot of people and I would like to know why is this company is still around?

If you have Farmer insurance I highly recommend that you cancel it and get a reputable insurance provider and if you have a claim against Farmers Insurance make sure you get the meanest toughest lawyer you can get. Do not be stupid and get screwed over like me. I think that there should be a law in place that requires all insurance company’s to send you all the information on how long you have to settle a claim and what expenses will be paid and when in plain English.

Here is a link to the stories of others that we low balled by Farmers Insurance http://farmersinsurancegroupsucks.com/

The only way to stop Farmers Insurance is to get your insurance somewhere else, if they have no clients, they have no business, so pass this blog on to anyone who carriers Farmers insurance, it could save them alot of grief and money in the long run.

Dear Readers

Since I have started back to school, we have not had a lot of time to keep up with our blog.

Today, we will post some stupid human tricks for your entertainment,

In Wichita, Kansas, police arrested a 22-year-old man at an
airport hotel after he tried to pass two (counterfeit) $16 bills. Duhhh.. our question is
which school did he go to?
A man in Johannesberg, South Africa, shot his 49-year-old friend
in the face, seriously wounding him, while the two practiced
shooting beer cans off each other’s head. After how many beers?

A company trying to continue its five-year perfect safety record
showed its workers a film aimed at encouraging the use of safety gogles on
the job. According to Industrial Machinery News, the film’s
depiction of gory industrial accidents was so graphic that
twenty-five workers suffered minor injuries in their rush to leave
the screening room. Thirteen others fainted, and one man required
seven stitches after he cut his head falling off a chair while
watching the film. ..oops so much for that perfect safety record

In Radnor, Pennsylvania, police officers interrogated a suspect by
placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to
a photocopy machine. The message “He’s lying” was placed in the
copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the
suspect wasn’t telling the truth. Believing the “lie detector” was
working, the suspect confessed…. metal colander not just for stopping alien invasions.

The Chico, California, City Council enacted a ban on nuclear
weapons, setting a $500 fine for anyone detonating one within city
limits… only in California!!

In St. Louis a bus carrying five passengers was hit by a car ,
by the time police arrived on the scene, fourteen pedestrians had
boarded the bus and had begun to complain of whiplash injuries and
back pain. …St Louis the place to be a con-artist.

Dear Brew

My 6 month old Golden goes in to get spayed tomorrow morning and by the time I thought to call my vet they were closed. I was wondering if you could help me out by letting me know if it’s ok to give her breakfast before she goes for surgery tomorrow morning? I don’t know if you’ll check this before then, but if you do and you have an answer for me, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
Jenn

Dear Jenn

For spay and neuter procedures on both dog’s and cat’s, you will want take both their food and water away 12 hours before their scheduled visit to the vet.

Just like people they need to have an empty stomach for any full anesthesia. Feeding your pet can cause them to vomit in recovery and possible aspirate, which can cause complication in your pet’s recovery.

For after care on you pet after a spay or neuter, you will want to withhold food and water for another hour or two after getting home and then start with a small amount of water and if they do okay with that, give 1/4 to 1/2 of their regular meal.

If your pet should vomit after coming home (anesthesia can cause nausea in a lot of pets) pull all food and water for 12 more hours and repeat above instructions. If your pet is still vomiting, you will need to call your Vet.

Other things you will want to do is to check the incision site every day to make sure it is clean and dry and that your pet is not licking at it. Lick at the incision site will cause an infection, so you can try these tricks, if your pet is licking at the incision site, put on tee/sweat shirt ( for spays) and for neuter a pair of tighty whites or boxers with a hole cut out for the penis, so they don’t pee on themselfs or there is the Elizabethan collar (all pet love this… not) which stops your pet from reach its head around and licking. It is also good for clear coffee tables, running people over with and get over 150 channels.

Dear Brew

My kitty, Missy, has scabs on her face and around her eyes and she is always scratching around that area. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Dear Missy’s owner

We have lot’s of thoughts and some of them are actually usefully! Our thoughts on this problem is that Missy has stick tight flea’s.

These little flea’s love the areas around the eyes and ears, they look like little brown or red seeds and true to there name they stick tight.

The great new for you, is that are very easy to get rid of.

To get rid of stick tight fleas, you will need to pick up Advantage or Front-line and apply the whole dose for her weight/size on the skin between her shoulder blades. This will kill the flea’s and they will fall off and the Front-line or Advantage will also kill and repell fleas and ticks for another 30 days.

We also recommend that you apply Front-Line or Advantage every month to help keep the stick tight flea’s from returning.

Stick tight flea’s can be a big problem if not taken care of, they are like little vampires and can cause death in pets with large flea infestations or if your pet has a compromised immune system.
You can find both Front-line and Advantage at our on-line store A Happy Tail Shop or at your local Vet, Petco, Petsmart..ect, make sure you get one of these products and not the cheaper stuff like Hartz, the cheaper flea products are just not up to job.

Thanks for writing us with your problem and for giving us an new idea for the next vampire book and movie, it will star the a group of very sexy and very hungry stick tight flea’s…. fame and fortune here we come!!

Dear Readers

What is your opinion on Michael Vick?

Our’s is why is this man, who tortured, shot and trained Pit Bulls to fight, being allowed back in the NFL!!!

Why was he allowed to sign on with the Eagles? One reason the almighty dollar!!

The founder of Main Line Animal Rescue, Bill Smith, was quoted as saying, “There are a lot of people out there who deserve second chances more than Michael Vick.” and we agree with his statement.

But people like Smith and I don’t get to decide the fate of Michael Vick. The Eagles were the ones who decided that Vick got a second chance for the usual reason in sports: Because they think he can help them. They signed him to be an even better team than the one that came within a few plays of going back to the Super Bowl last season.

We personally think that Michael Vick should be put in a ring and made to fight to the death, just like the poor dogs he tortured and mistreated.

He should not be paid millions of dollars to play football. Or even better, he should be made to play and everything he makes should be donated to pit bull rescue!!

But that’s just our opinion.

Dear Readers

We wanted to share this information for those dog owners that just can not seem to get their dog to lose weight .

There is now a anti-obesity drug for dogs, It is only available by prescription and like with any other diet, you also need to cut calories and increase exercise for it work.

But if you have already tried reducing calories and increasing exercise with no result then the new weigh loss drug Slentrol maybe what you need for your fat Fido.

You may have noticed that extra weight impacts your dog’s regular daily activities, making it harder to climb stairs, play, or even walk. But did you know those extra pounds can also affect his or her health? It only takes an additional 20% above ideal weight for a dog to be considered obese. That means if your dog weighs 35 pounds, just 7 extra pounds can put him or her at risk for many serious conditions associated with obesity.

We know you care about your dog’s health. Yet, helping him or her lose unhealthy weight can be difficult. Diet and exercise are often hard to stick with and may not be enough. If you’re frustrated with traditional weight-loss methods and the please feed me I am starving to death look your dog has perfected.. well don’t dispare, now there’s a new option – Slentrol.

Sentrol works inside the small intestine of the dog. It keeps some of the fat from being absorbed into the body, so the dog senses that it’s full and eats less at each meal. A less-hungry dog takes in fewer calories, which leads to weight loss.

Unlike human weight-loss drugs, Slentrol is not associated with undesirable side effects such as oily discharges and excessive gas.

The result? Your dog could lose, on average, 3% of its weight every month through the medically appropriate approach of gradual, sustained weight loss over time.

We also wanted to pass on this tibit for your chubby K9…greenbeans, add some no salt added greenbeans to your dog’s diet will help them feel fuller and loved again.

Dear Brew

We have a cat named Joey that is pulling out his fur and has itchy red crusty spots on his skin . Help .. Pamela

Dear Pamela and Joey

Sounds like Joey may have allergy problems.

In the allergic state, the cat’s immune system “overreacts” to foreign substances (allergens or antigens) to which it is exposed. Those overreactions are shown in three ways. The most common is itching of the skin, either localized (one area) or generalized (all over the cat). Another signs of allergys involves coughing, sneezing, and/or wheezing. Sometimes, there may be a nasal or eye discharge. Cats with really bad allergies may also have vomiting and diarrhea.

There are four known types of allergies in the cat: contact, flea, food, and inhalant.

Lets start with flea and contact allergies. A normal cat experiences only minor irritation in response to flea bites, often without any itching. The flea allergic cat, on the other hand, has a severe, itch-producing reaction when the flea’s saliva is deposited in the skin. Just one bite causes such intense itching that the cat may severely scratch or chew itself, leading to the removal of large amounts of hair. There will often be open sores or scabs on the skin. In addition, the cat may have numerous, small scabs around the head and neck. Flea allergies are the easy to treat, just make sure you apply a high quality flea product like Frontline or Advantage once a month. You may also need to see your veterinarian for a steroid allergy shot to get the get the itching and skin redness under control.

Contact allergies are seen, when ever your cat come into contact with what ever he is allergic to, this could be something outside, like grass or weeds or a certain cleaning product. You need to figure out what the trigger is and eliminating the contact.

Food and inhalant allergies are more difficult. Food allergies are helped by figuring out what foods your cat may be allergic to and then eliminating them from his diet. This can be done with allergy testing (not cheap) or a trial food test, were you feed a special allergy food for 4 to 6 weeks and it will take at least 30 days to see results from food trials. Here again we recommend seeing your vet, to get medication to help with itching and allergic skin reactions.

Most cats that have an inhalant allergy are allergic to several allergens. If the number is small and they are the seasonal type, itching may last for just a few weeks at a time during one or two periods of the year. If the number of allergens is large or they are present year-round, the cat may itch constantly.

Treatment depends on the length of the cat’s allergy season. It involves two approaches. Steroids will dramatically block the allergic reaction in most cases. These may be given orally or by injection, depending on the circumstances.

Some cats are helped considerably by a hypoallergenic shampoo. It has been demonstrated that some allergens may be absorbed through the skin. Frequent bathing ( good luck with this) will reduce the amount of antigen exposure. In addition to removing surface antigen, bathing alone will provide some temporary relief from itching.

Allergies can take awhile to figuring out. Work with your vet and keep a detail log of what your cat eats and comes into contact with, this will help you and your vet in figuring out what kind of allergies your kitty has…..Good luck

We have an new puppy that get sick in the car, we plan on doing a lot of traveling with our new puppy, any helpful suggestions?

Thank you

Tired of cleaning up.

Dear Tired

Car sickness in puppies and dogs is fairly common problem.

First it is important to remember that not all car sickness is created equal. While you can see a great many dogs riding in cars with their human companions, happily sticking their heads out the car windows and letting the breeze play with their floppy ears, there are also those dogs are plain and simply afraid of the car. Perhaps it is the noise, or the smell, or quite possibly the unanticipated starting and stopping of the vehicle that frightens these dogs. Whatever the case may be, such dogs with a simple fear of the car will quite possibly become upset at riding in one that they may vomit.

Our fist suggestion is to take your new puppy for short rides around the block, make sure you don’t over feed her and give her a couple hours after eating before the ride Putting her a crate may also help ( crates also make cleaning up much easier) you may also want to place her an elevated position were she can see out the window. Brew loves car rides and we make sure he a nice elevated place on the back seat where he can lie down and look out the window.

Make the ride a fun experience for her and if things are going well, gradually increase the ride times.

Of course, there are those dogs that will indeed have genuine motion sickness, which is a condition that has to do with the inner ear rather than fear.

In those cases your only option may be to give your dog some Benadryl, Dramamine or one of the many natural remedies about 30 minutes before travel. For those canines that simply cannot let go of their fears, there are some prescriptions of mild tranquilizers available that will help calm your dog’s nerves and help her or him endue the time in the car without getting car sick.

With a little time, patient and some experimenting, you will find what will work to make your dog love taking car rides with you. We wish and your new puppy many happy and puke free road trips.
